This wreath is easy to make. I should know, since I have done it twice. Do NOT store this wreath in an attic!  Apparently it does get hot enough to melt hot glue here in the South. See how to make your own festive wreath! (more…)

How to Make an Infinity Scarf from a T-Shirt in Two Minutes!

20 Oct

I am always cold, so I love to throw on a scarf when the temperature drops. My mini-me ask me why she didn’t have any. It was then I came up with a genius idea, which of course has been though of before, but I enjoyed feeling like a genius for five minutes!  I picked out  some of Addy’s knit shirts that she had outgrown. The GAP playtime favorites were perfect. I drew a straight line under the sleeves and cut. There you have it. A FREE infinity scarf in less than two minutes! You can stretch the shirt by hooking one end on a door knob to hang at the length you want. You can also  hem the raw edge with a stretch stitch, but the fabric will be fine without it. I wish I had figured this out sooner!

My daughter is a girly girl. She loves to accessorise and will not wear pants, ever. Not even jeggings. I decided to see how fast, and cheap, I could make a skirt. I made the skirt and the headband from first the first cut to the last stitch in 1 hour, and the fabric and elastic was $8.00.

After I started writing the how to I thought, “wow, this seems complicated”. I promise it’s not! Once I cut the fabric I winged it, but I am giving you more exact measurements and a little extras in case you are a new to sewing. Don’t stress that it has to be perfect. This type of skirt is very forgiving!
