Fat Eye Design

31 Oct

This is the logo I designed for Fat Eye Design. This etsy shop contains prints, textiles, and furniture. The name started as a joke. I was laughing with my friend, who is from China, about how all of my Asian friends think I look Asian. It is because I have almond shaped eyes and heavy eye lids. I told her I have some serious fat eye when I wake up and my eyes are puffy! It was funny, so I kept it. I have had a lot of people ask me what my ethnicity is, and I take it as a compliment. Have I peaked your interest? Both of my Grandparents were half Native America and half Irish. I proudly come from a long line of fat eyes!

You can use it to print your own stationary, or add to you scrap booking arsenal. Fleemarket Finds

7 Jun

Since I was very young my Mom would take me “junkin’ ” with her. Junkin’ is different than antique shopping. It’s where you find a great treasure, rather than just buy one. I think is is where my hot retro love started. I still love to go flee markets with my her. Not only does she share her wealth of information about antiques, but also stories from our families’ past. I never knew people had separate juice glasses, but now I think I’m obsessed! (more…)

Hatch Show Prints

25 May

I have long admired the letterpress prints produced by Hatch Show Print, one of the oldest working letterpress print shops in the U.S. I was lucky enough to tour their studio in Nashville, TN.I definitely had the huge eyes, big smile, freak show look going on as I took in their massive collection of prints, woodblocks, type, and rare presses. Luckily my boyfriend thinks my type obsession is “cute,” so he was excited too. I had to restrain myself from buying everything in the store. You can buy prints too!
