Long ago I replaced all of the light bulbs in my home with energy saver bulbs. My electric bill dropped and I didn’t have to worry about getting the ladder out and changing them anytime soon, but I didn’t want to see the ugly bulbs either. They can really ruin a pretty shade!

The Plumen bulb uses 80% less energy and lasts 8 times longer than incandescent bulbs and they are more attractive than the alternative. Buy them here or here from Graypants.

I love items made from recycled goods. Not only is this a good thing for the environment, but it seems to make the product more interesting. These lights are made from salvaged pieces of corrugated cardboard by Graypants. You can see that these guys have an architecture background, in the detail of the form. The bonus of this design, is the interesting shapes the light and shadow play leave on the wall.
