My daughter is a girly girl. She loves to accessorise and will not wear pants, ever. Not even jeggings. I decided to see how fast, and cheap, I could make a skirt. I made the skirt and the headband from first the first cut to the last stitch in 1 hour, and the fabric and elastic was $8.00.

After I started writing the how to I thought, “wow, this seems complicated”. I promise it’s not! Once I cut the fabric I winged it, but I am giving you more exact measurements and a little extras in case you are a new to sewing. Don’t stress that it has to be perfect. Tailoring jeans to give you the perfect fit, without a geeky unmatched hem, is really easy to do yourself. With this method you will not cut of the excess material to adjust the length, but fold it under and sew line of thread just above the regular hem. This is a fake out of sorts, so the new length looks like you bought them this way.
